When Teachable brings creators together, they don’t just host an event, they build an environment. For the recent “Creator NYC” gathering at the Mercury Store in Brooklyn, the vision was bold, vibrant, and incredibly specific. NYC Photo Party was thrilled to step up as the production partner, turning a blank canvas venue into an immersive brand experience through complete event branding and signage.
Transforming a raw space like the Mercury Store at 131 8th St requires more than just a few banners. It takes a cohesive strategy that touches every surface, from the stairs you walk up to the stage where the magic happens. Here is a look at how we deployed our full arsenal of custom fabrication and event rentals to bring this vision to life.
Setting the Stage
The focal point of any creator event is the stage. It’s where the insights drop and the cameras point. For Teachable, we needed something dynamic that popped on camera and in person.
We designed and fabricated a massive Custom “Layered” Stage Backdrop. At 18 feet wide and 9.5 feet tall, this wasn’t a simple flat wall. We combined a primary 18-foot fabric backdrop with a secondary 16-foot layer to create depth. To make the branding truly stand out, we added custom-routed foam board panels in clover and purple shapes. This layering technique gave the stage a high-end, broadcast-ready look.
Supporting this visual anchor, we provided a professional Event Stage Rental (20′ x 8′), complete with adjustable legs set to a perfect 2-foot height and wrapped in sleek black pleated skirting. To ensure the focus stayed on the speakers, we installed a massive 40-foot run of Pipe & Drape behind the setup, masking the existing venue wall and creating a clean, distraction-free background.
Immersive Branding: Every Step Counts
Immersion is about details. You want guests to feel the brand presence the moment they step inside. We achieved this by utilizing surfaces that are often overlooked.
- Bathroom & Mirror Decals: We believe branding shouldn’t stop at the restroom door. We created custom-shaped floor and mirror decals for the bathrooms, adding a fun, unexpected touch that guests loved to snap photos of.
- Stair Decals: We produced and installed 10 custom vinyl decals for the stair risers. As guests ascended to the main level, they were greeted by a cohesive visual message that led them upward.
- Glass Panel Decals: The catwalk above the stairs featured glass panels that we wrapped with double-sided custom decals. This ensured branding was visible from both the ground floor looking up and the second floor looking out.
Trade Show & Sponsor Areas
Beyond the main stage, the event required functional spaces for interaction. We deployed a fully Custom Trade Show Booth (10′ x 10′). This modular kit included a tension fabric backwall, podium, literature stand, and monitor mount, all custom printed. To ground the space, we installed a Custom Color Event Carpet matched perfectly to the brand palette, hemmed and bound for a polished finish.
For sponsors, we set up a Sleek Fabric Step & Repeat. Unlike traditional vinyl that can glare under flash photography, our heavy-knit fabric absorbs light beautifully, ensuring every sponsor logo looked crisp in photos.
Signage That Connects
High above the crowd, we installed two Hanging Fabric Banners (3′ x 6′) from the rafters, flanking the stage to draw the eye upward and fill the vertical space. Outside, a 10.5-foot Branded Feather Flag welcomed guests upon arrival.
One of our favorite pieces was the “CONNECT” Layered Die-Cut Foam Sign. Spanning 8 feet wide, this 3D sign was a literal and figurative centerpiece, reminding attendees exactly why they were there.
